Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog. I know it’s been a while but I hope all my dear readers know that even if it takes me a month to publish another article, I will never give up on you guys. I’m back today with a topic that was inspired by a situation a friend of mine is going through. I hope this article will teach and inspire you to make a change in your way of living. Don’t forget to follow my blog if you’re new and share this article with a friend❤
If you’re in your 20s like me or older, it is certain that you have constantly thought about your future and how you want everything to turn out as planned in your head. Those thoughts usually stress us out because we can’t really control what’s going to happen in 10 years and we might feel like we’re running out of time. Plus nowadays, social media makes us feel like there’s a certain age to accomplish things in your life. Often we see people post their big accomplishments at a young age and it kind of makes us wonder what we’ve been doing with our lives. One thing is certain: we’re the only ones in charge of our future and how it will turn out. It’s also certain that some things are not under our control and there’s no reason to really stress about them. A few weeks ago I was talking to a friend and based on his logic, he felt like he was running out of time and doesn’t really know which next step to take. The main reason why he was stressing was because he was inspired by how I manage to plan my future and how I’m reaching my goals step by step. I want to have an impact on people, a positive one. I want to inspire young people to make rational decisions to reach their goals in the quickest way possible but one thing I DO NOT WANT is people to feel intimidated or pressured by the way that I decide to pursue my dreams. I don’t want anyone to see me or anyone else as a competition because our journeys are different from one another. I want everyone to think of someone else’s journey as a source of motivation and that’s it. Today’s article will help you with that matter. So without further ado let’s get to it!
What is success?
Everyone has their own definition of success. When I searched for the definition of success on the internet, I realized that what I could consider as a success is different from other popular POVs. To me, success is the feeling of achieving something you’ve always wanted to do. Success is when you create a positive change in your life or in someone else’s. Success is not something that should be measured. We can all be successful without my success overshadowing yours.
Here are 5 things you need to know when it comes to success…
1. Don’t compare yourself to others. I said it in the intro and I’m saying it again now. Our journeys are different from one another. You shouldn’t compare my experience to yours because comparison is the thief of joy. When you compare yourself with others, you will never find happiness in your accomplishments. Therefore you will never be happy. Other people will notice your success but not you because it will never be enough.
2. There’s no age limit when it comes to success. Who said you need to have your master’s degree by 25? I mean if you do that’s amazing but if you don’t, you can work on that. Just because X bought his first house within one year of working doesn’t mean that I’ve failed at life. One thing I always tell people is that life didn’t come with a manual book. We create our own book by writing a chapter every month. Everyone has their own book and each book will have a different number of pages and chapters. I can use my book to motivate or inspire someone else but the pages will never be the same.
3. Be motivated and inspired do not fear. We should never fear the future. I made some research about this and it is said that the fear of the future is just an illusion. It’s a scenario we have created in our head and that we’re scared might come to life. We have the power to change that and attract joy in our lives. Be optimistic!
4. Celebrate small victories. On your way to success you will face small situations that you will have to overcome. Those little victories no matter how small they are should be celebrated. Be proud of yourself for everything you accomplish. Some people are never satisfied because they’re so focused on one goal only. They wanna fight and fight for one thing, one goal and never take time to congratulate themselves on other achievements. Sometimes you need to give yourself a little pat on the back for the good job you’ve been doing even if it’s not as big as you’d like.
5. Never be ashamed to ask for help. There’s an African proverb that says :” If you want to go fast go alone. If you want to go far go together”. In life you have to be humble and accept your limitations and the fact that you don’t know everything. Surround yourself with people with good intentions and never be afraid to ask for help when you need it the most.
That’s all for today. I hope you enjoyed reading this article as much as I enjoyed writing it. I’ll leave you guys with 3 additional tips : Believe in yourself, Work hard and Never stop dreaming. Success will come to you! Bye bye and see you soon. Xoxo
